Service Area and Project Eligibility

KDI Building Developments Inc. provides qualifying design-build, remodeling, reconstruction, new-construction and commercial-improvement services throughout Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, Los Angeles and San Diego counties. Project eligibility is based on scope, location, anticipated project value, permitting requirements, scheduling availability and overall project fit.

Project acceptance depends on property location, requested scope, project requirements, scheduling capacity and KDI’s ability to perform or properly coordinate the work.

Primary Construction Service Area

KDI’s primary construction service area generally extends approximately 60 driving miles from its Riverside office:

This distance is a general planning guideline and not a disqualification. KDI will consider qualifying projects throughout the counties listed below.

This service area includes qualifying locations within:

• Riverside County
• San Bernardino County
• Orange County
• Los Angeles County
• San Diego County

Listing a county does not mean that every address within that county is eligible. Some properties may be outside KDI’s normal driving area even though they are located within one of the listed counties.

KDI evaluates eligibility using the actual project address, anticipated driving requirements and project scope.

Projects Outside the Primary Service Area

KDI may consider projects outside its primary service area when justified by factors such as:

• Project size and anticipated contract value
• Design-build or preconstruction requirements
• Insurance-reconstruction circumstances
• New-construction or substantial-remodel scope
• Existing customer relationships
• Specialized project requirements
• Travel, lodging, supervision and logistical needs
• KDI’s current scheduling capacity

Projects outside the normal service area may be subject to additional mobilization, travel, supervision, delivery, lodging or project-management costs. Any applicable charges will be disclosed in the applicable proposal or agreement before the related services are performed.

KDI is not obligated to accept a project solely because the property is located within one of the counties identified above.

Limited-Scope Local Requests

KDI may consider certain smaller repair, maintenance or limited-scope requests for properties located within approximately 20 driving miles of its Riverside office.

These services are not offered as a guaranteed, separately staffed or emergency-service program. Requests are evaluated individually and remain subject to:

• Address verification
• The nature and size of the requested work
• Technician and project-manager availability
• Applicable licensing requirements
• KDI’s minimum service requirements
• Site access and working conditions
• Material and equipment availability
• Whether the requested service can be legally and operationally performed or coordinated by KDI

KDI may decline a limited-scope request or recommend that the property owner contact an appropriately licensed specialty contractor directly.

Driving Distance

All mileage references are approximate driving distances—not straight-line geographic radiuses.

Distance may be evaluated using a commonly available mapping service and may be affected by:

• The actual project address
• Available roads and access routes
• Traffic and travel conditions
• Mountain, rural or restricted-access locations
• Toll roads
• Vehicle and equipment requirements

A ZIP code alone may not be sufficient to confirm eligibility. KDI may require the complete project address.

Specialty-Trade Work

KDI is a California-licensed General Building contractor.

Services may be performed by KDI personnel where permitted by KDI’s license classification or coordinated through appropriately licensed specialty contractors when required by the project scope and California law.

The availability of a particular service does not represent that KDI directly self-performs every specialty trade.

KDI may determine that a standalone specialty-trade request should be performed directly by a contractor holding the applicable specialty classification.

Project-Eligibility Factors

In addition to location, KDI may consider:

• Residential or commercial property type
• Ownership or authority to approve the work
• Requested project scope
• Anticipated investment
• Design, engineering and permitting requirements
• Desired project timeline
• Site access and occupancy conditions
• Availability of plans, photographs and measurements
• Material and product requirements
• Funding or financing readiness
• Insurance-claim status, when applicable
• Safety concerns
• Hazardous or concealed conditions
• Existing unpermitted or noncompliant construction
• KDI’s current workload and scheduling capacity

A consultation or preliminary project review does not guarantee that KDI will accept the project.

Minimum Project Requirements

Minimum project requirements may vary by service category, location, scheduling conditions and promotional offer.

Any applicable minimum project value, consultation fee, design fee, preconstruction fee, diagnostic charge or service-call charge will be disclosed before the applicable paid service is performed.

Insurance-Reconstruction Projects

Insurance-funded reconstruction projects are evaluated separately based on:

• Type and extent of property damage
• Property location
• Safety and habitability conditions
• Available carrier documentation
• Project scope and anticipated reconstruction value
• Customer authorization and funding responsibility
• KDI’s ability to document and perform the necessary work
• Scheduling and trade availability

KDI’s acceptance of an insurance-reconstruction project does not guarantee insurance coverage, supplement approval or payment by the insurance carrier.

No Emergency-Service Guarantee

KDI’s website, consultation forms and general telephone system are not emergency-reporting systems.

KDI does not guarantee:

• Immediate dispatch
• Same-day service
• After-hours availability
• Twenty-four-hour monitoring
• Emergency water mitigation
• Emergency plumbing, electrical or HVAC response

For fire, gas leaks, active flooding, electrical hazards, structural instability, medical emergencies or other immediate dangers, contact 911, the appropriate utility company or a qualified emergency-service provider.

Confirming Service-Area Eligibility

To request an eligibility review, provide:

• Full property address
• Property type
• General project description
• Photographs, when available
• Desired timeline
• Insurance involvement, when applicable
• Estimated project investment or available budget
• Preferred contact information

KDI may request additional information before determining whether a consultation, site visit or other next step is appropriate.

No Guarantee of Project Acceptance

Submitting a form, calling KDI, providing a project address or receiving preliminary information does not create a construction agreement, reserve a position on KDI’s schedule or require KDI to accept the project.

A project is accepted only through the applicable written agreement signed by the customer and an authorized KDI representative.
