KDI Building Developments Inc. (“KDI”) proudly recognizes individuals who serve, protect, educate and strengthen our communities.

Eligible military members, veterans, first responders, educators, government employees and seniors may receive savings of up to 20% on qualifying project components for projects with a minimum qualifying value of $5,000.

The Community Appreciation Discount is subject to these terms, project eligibility, applicable exclusions and KDI’s general Promotional Offer Terms and Conditions.

These terms apply to KDI Building Developments Inc. and its authorized operating names and divisions, including ForgePoint Building and Remodeling, a KDI Building Developments Inc. company.

1. Eligible Community Groups

The Community Appreciation Discount may be available to qualifying members of the following groups.

Military Members and Veterans

  • Active-duty members of the United States Armed Forces
  • Military reservists
  • National Guard members
  • Honorably discharged veterans
  • Retired military personnel

First Responders

  • Active or retired law-enforcement officers
  • Active or retired firefighters
  • Active or retired emergency medical technicians
  • Active or retired paramedics
  • Other qualifying emergency-response personnel approved by KDI

Educators

  • Current public-school teachers
  • Current private-school teachers
  • Current qualifying school administrators
  • Current qualifying school employees

The applicable educational institution must be recognized or accredited as required. Independent tutors, private coaches and employees of businesses that are not qualifying educational institutions do not automatically qualify.

Government Employees

  • Current city employees
  • Current county employees
  • Current California state employees
  • Current federal government employees

Independent contractors, vendors and employees of private companies that perform government work do not automatically qualify as government employees.

Seniors

  • Property owners or authorized contracting parties who are 65 years of age or older when the applicable KDI agreement is executed

2. Customer Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the Community Appreciation Discount:

  • The eligible individual must own the property or otherwise be legally authorized to enter into the applicable agreement.
  • The eligible individual must be named as a customer or contracting party in the KDI agreement.
  • The project must be located within KDI’s applicable service area.
  • The project must have a minimum qualifying value of $5,000 before the discount is applied.
  • The project must satisfy KDI’s applicable scope, feasibility, scheduling and project-qualification requirements.
  • Eligibility must be disclosed and verified before the proposal or agreement is finalized.
  • The discount cannot be requested after the agreement has been executed unless KDI expressly approves it in writing.
  • The customer must provide reasonable proof of eligibility.

Membership in an eligible community group does not guarantee that every project, service or project component will receive the full 20% discount.

3. Verification of Eligibility

KDI may request reasonable documentation to confirm eligibility.

Acceptable documentation may include:

  • Military or veteran identification
  • Military discharge or retirement documentation
  • Current employment identification
  • Professional or agency credentials
  • Current school identification
  • Employment-verification documentation
  • Government-employee identification
  • Government-issued identification confirming age
  • Other reliable documentation reasonably accepted by KDI

Customers should redact Social Security numbers, financial-account information, medical information and other unrelated sensitive information before providing eligibility documentation.

KDI may visually inspect the documentation or record that eligibility was verified. KDI does not need to retain a copy of sensitive identification after verification unless retention is reasonably necessary, authorized and handled according to KDI’s Privacy Policy.

KDI may deny the discount if eligibility cannot reasonably be verified.

4. Minimum Qualifying Project Value

The minimum qualifying project value is $5,000.

The $5,000 minimum is determined using the eligible project scope before the Community Appreciation Discount is applied.

The following amounts will not be used to satisfy the minimum project value unless KDI expressly states otherwise in writing:

  • Change orders approved after execution of the original agreement
  • Financing charges
  • Permits and government fees
  • Insurance deductibles
  • Promotional credits
  • Previously completed or contracted work
  • Previously issued invoices
  • Third-party professional services
  • Other excluded costs identified in these terms or the applicable proposal

Projects below $5,000 do not qualify unless KDI expressly approves an exception in writing.

Combining multiple unrelated service requests solely to reach the minimum project value does not establish eligibility unless KDI accepts the services as one qualifying project.

5. Discount Amount

Eligible customers may receive a Community Appreciation Discount of up to 20% on qualifying project components.

“Up to 20%” means that 20% is the maximum potential discount—not a guaranteed discount for every customer, service or project.

The Community Appreciation Discount is also subject to a maximum promotional savings cap of $10,000 per project. Where the calculated discount on qualifying project components would exceed $10,000, the discount is limited to $10,000.

The actual discount will depend on:

  • Project type
  • Eligible scope of work
  • Contract value
  • Labor and material allocation
  • Applicable exclusions
  • Project complexity
  • Offer-specific requirements
  • Other written limitations

The discount does not automatically apply to the entire contract value.

The actual discount percentage, eligible project components and resulting dollar value will be identified in KDI’s written proposal, agreement or promotional addendum before the agreement is executed.

6. Eligible Project Components

Unless the applicable offer expressly states otherwise, the Community Appreciation Discount applies only to qualifying KDI labor, materials or project components specifically identified in writing.

KDI may apply the discount to:

  • Qualifying KDI labor
  • Selected materials
  • Identified project phases
  • Selected design services
  • Customer-paid upgrades
  • Specific service categories
  • Other components stated in the applicable written offer

Not every eligible component will necessarily receive the same discount percentage. The applicable written proposal or promotional addendum will identify the components and corresponding promotional value.

7. Excluded Costs

Unless expressly included in writing, the Community Appreciation Discount does not apply to:

  • Architecture
  • Engineering
  • Structural calculations
  • Energy calculations
  • Plans and design documents
  • Permits
  • Plan-check fees
  • Inspection fees
  • Government charges
  • Testing and reports
  • Surveys
  • Hazardous-material testing, abatement or remediation
  • Third-party professional services
  • Specialty consultants
  • Financing charges
  • Insurance deductibles
  • Emergency or after-hours services
  • Previously authorized work
  • Previously completed work
  • Change orders
  • Concealed conditions
  • Customer-requested upgrades
  • Special-order products
  • Customer-supplied materials
  • Delivery, freight or storage charges
  • Manufacturer or supplier price increases
  • Work performed under a separate agreement with another provider
  • Other pass-through or third-party costs identified in the proposal

8. One Discount Per Project

Only one Community Appreciation Discount may be applied per:

  • Property
  • Household
  • Customer agreement
  • Project

Eligibility under more than one category does not create multiple discounts.

For example, a customer who qualifies as both a veteran and a senior will receive one Community Appreciation Discount—not two separate discounts.

Eligibility categories cannot be combined or stacked to increase the applicable percentage or promotional value.

9. Combining With Other Offers

Unless KDI expressly approves otherwise in writing, the Community Appreciation Discount cannot be combined with:

  • Another percentage discount
  • Seasonal promotions
  • Promotional credits
  • Complimentary-service promotions
  • Referral rewards
  • Negotiated price reductions
  • Prior-customer discounts
  • Employee or trade discounts
  • Other KDI promotional offers

If a customer qualifies for more than one KDI promotion, KDI may apply the single eligible offer providing the greatest available value.

Third-party financing programs remain subject to the financing provider’s independent terms. Using financing does not automatically make the Community Appreciation Discount unavailable unless the applicable written offer states otherwise.

10. New Agreements Only

The Community Appreciation Discount applies only to qualifying new agreements.

The discount cannot be:

  • Applied retroactively
  • Added after an agreement has been executed
  • Applied to previously completed work
  • Applied to a previously issued invoice
  • Applied to a previously approved change order
  • Used to renegotiate an existing contract
  • Exchanged for cash
  • Used to create a refund or negative project balance

KDI may approve an exception only through a written amendment or promotional addendum signed by an authorized KDI representative.

11. Insurance-Funded Projects

The Community Appreciation Discount will not:

  • Waive an insurance deductible
  • Reimburse an insurance deductible
  • Conceal an insurance deductible
  • Misrepresent the project price to an insurance carrier or mortgage company
  • Create inaccurate claim, invoice or payment documentation
  • Reduce an amount properly owed under the construction agreement unless documented in writing

For insurance-funded projects, the discount may be limited to qualifying customer-paid upgrades, non-insurance work or other eligible components specifically identified in writing.

Insurance-carrier approval or payment is not guaranteed.

12. Changes to the Project Scope

The Community Appreciation Discount is calculated using the qualifying scope and contract value approved when the offer is applied.

If the customer later reduces, cancels or materially changes the eligible scope, KDI may proportionately adjust or remove the discount if the project no longer satisfies the $5,000 minimum or other offer requirements.

Customer-requested additions and change orders do not automatically receive the original discount.

Any adjustment will be documented through the applicable change order, amendment, cancellation accounting or other written project record.

13. No Cash Value or Transfer

The Community Appreciation Discount:

  • Has no cash value
  • Is nontransferable
  • Cannot be sold or assigned
  • Cannot be transferred to another property or project
  • Cannot be converted into a gift card, refund or cash payment
  • Cannot create savings greater than the eligible project components
  • Cannot be used by another person solely because that person is related to an eligible individual

The qualifying individual must remain a named contracting party unless KDI expressly approves otherwise in writing.

14. Misrepresentation or Fraud

KDI may deny or withdraw the discount if:

  • Eligibility information is false, incomplete or misleading.
  • Verification documentation is altered or fraudulent.
  • The qualifying individual is not a property owner or authorized contracting party.
  • The discount is used contrary to its stated terms.
  • The customer attempts to transfer or stack the discount without authorization.
  • Applying the discount would violate applicable law.
  • The project does not satisfy the published qualification requirements.
  • The project scope is changed to avoid an exclusion or improperly increase the discount.

If a discount was granted based on materially false eligibility information, KDI may correct the contract price through a written amendment or pursue other remedies available under the applicable agreement and law.

15. Promotional Period and Expiration

The applicable advertisement or offer will identify any expiration date and the action required to preserve eligibility.

Unless the applicable offer states otherwise:

  • The promotion expires at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the advertised expiration date.
  • Requesting information or scheduling a consultation before expiration does not preserve the offer indefinitely.
  • The customer must complete the qualifying action stated in the offer before expiration.
  • The required action may include completing a consultation, approving a proposal or executing an agreement.
  • Construction may occur after the expiration date if the customer completed the required qualifying action on time and KDI accepted the project.

16. Written Confirmation Controls

The Community Appreciation Discount becomes part of a project only when it is identified in KDI’s written proposal, agreement or promotional addendum.

Oral statements, informal messages or third-party advertisements do not modify the signed agreement unless KDI confirms the modification in writing through an authorized representative.

The signed agreement controls the project scope, price, payments, schedule, warranty and other construction obligations.

17. Changes to the Program

KDI may modify, suspend or discontinue the Community Appreciation Program prospectively.

A modification will not affect a discount already incorporated into an executed KDI agreement unless:

  • The customer agrees in writing;
  • The agreement permits the adjustment;
  • Eligibility information was materially inaccurate; or
  • The discount cannot lawfully be honored.

18. Relationship to Other KDI Terms

These Community Appreciation Discount Terms supplement KDI’s general Promotional Offer Terms and Conditions and the applicable project agreement.

If there is a conflict:

  • The signed construction agreement controls the construction scope, price, payment schedule and project obligations.
  • The applicable written promotional addendum controls the specific percentage and project components receiving the discount.
  • These Community Appreciation Discount Terms control general eligibility and promotional restrictions.

19. Governing Law

These Community Appreciation Discount Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Nothing in these terms limits a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived.
